The elections in Ecuador differ from the elections in other South American countries

The elections in Ecuador differ from the elections in other South American countries, because for 3 and a half years, Lenin Moreno and the government of Donald Trump have persecuted Rafael Correa, his closest collaborators and have counted on the National Assembly , the judiciary, the power of transparency, the electoral power, the army and the police for this, so Correa and many of his loyal collaborators are either with an arrest warrant or in prison and cannot participate directly in the elections. .

In this scenario, Correa has been forced to sponsor the candidacy of someone whom his enemies cannot obstruct, after he has been prevented from participating with the Citizen Revolution Movement-Social Commitment, list 5, and now has the help of the Movement Concertación Ciudadana list 1 and has consolidated UNES, a front of several parties, movements and people who want to prevent neoliberal rulers in power on February 7, 2021, which are the elections.

These elections take place in a country that has been severely hit by the pandemic, with a health crisis, without control, due to an economic crisis in a dollarized country, without devaluations or salary falls, which thanks to the dollar maintain a purchasing power in their wages, which allows to maintain demand and production, with unemployment, a bankruptcy of companies, and massive dismissal of public employees, a rabid flight of capital and highly qualified labor, which for a year has repressed popular anger through fear of the virus and elections.

The pandemic in turn has changed the way of working, communicating, studying, buying and selling, doing politics, the Internet has become the consolation, the doctor, the teacher, the provider, the entertainment, the window to family, friends and news, in almost everything.

In this completely new scenario, the presidential candidates are concerned about how to return to the past, from those of Correa, to the indigenous people. We think that all past times were better, without realizing that capitalism, which we have had since 1830 to date, concentrated power, wealth and knowledge, creating a huge population of poor people, which far exceeds the middle class and high, which with the pandemic multiplied exponentially, even the socialist government of Correa, from 2006 to 2016, created consumers and debtors, through a boom in jobs and public works, which with the crisis left by Moreno and the pandemic are almost impossible to return to a country where the population grew and did not have as many needs as now, which have multiplied in the last 14 years.

The socialism of the XXI century is a formula to distribute wealth, power and knowledge, in an appropriate way for Latin American countries, which went from being colonies to being independent countries, before most other colonies in the world, at the beginning of the 19th century, and that they have created a way of electing leaders by direct and secret vote, which at first was a privilege and since the end of the 20th century a right of all the inhabitants of these countries, but which nurtures a full electoral game traps and twists and turns, which has made it possible to turn some countries into naco-states, uncontrollable pockets of emigrants, or of protests.

None of the candidates present proposals to develop an economy for the protection of health, biodiversity and cultural diversity in Ecuador, their proposals begin on how to save dollarization, at a time when the dollar is the most threatened currency, since it is not backed by nothing except trust, credit, and payment that competes with bitcoin and new gold-backed currencies like the ruble and yen, to proposals to draw blood from the crab, by increasing production and productivity, knowing that when more raw materials are produced, the price of these drops, which does not mean more income for a country.

Recover state jobs, reduce the cost of money, that is, interest, stop the exploitation of the bureaucracy, through taxes and centralize them in those who have the most, think about subsidies, free education, health, low-cost public services. to compete with private goods and services, which always seek the highest price and highest profits, while public services have the opposite goal, lower costs and profits, to be more accessible and this is achieved through the massification of demand.

During the right-wing governments, taxes and tax revenues including loans served to finance the richest and this is what must change as well as the destination of state resources that must be to protect people, nature and cultures, not freely appointed bureaucrats, military, or wealthy.
