COMPLEMENTARY ANALYSIS The pandemic and neoliberalism have something in common, they subject millions of human beings to hardships. In the pandemic, resistance is to death, supporting the disease and preventing the spread of the virus, for which entire countries have become cloistered, distanced and saved lives one by one, because from each death and each human that survives, it is necessary to learn and from each sample and each virus as well.
Neoliberalism was an economic concept that emerged in Chicago in the United States and for this idea, the University of Chicago professors received the Nobel Prize in economics,
The essence of this economic doctrine is that money is more important than life, that money can grow and multiply faster than anything on planet earth, but that to unleash this monster of civilization, where the so-called economic growth, is unlimited, the unbridled accumulation of capital must be allowed, and capital has to put people, governments and nature under its implacable laws, in which the over-exploitation of human beings is possible through new forms of work, in which machines multiply the effort, and that produces profits, using bad wages in poor countries, and high wages in rich countries, the land is overexploited through bad prices for raw materials, plantations, chemicals, fertilizers, irrigation, mechanization of agriculture, and the sea using huge vessels using colossal nets, sonars, satellite global positioning, communications, to corner flocks of fish and ends r with them in the shortest time possible. and everything that can produce large profits is allowed, such as deforestation of forests, mining, and 24/7 work.
Of course when the biggest profits were the product of drug trafficking, human trafficking, sex trafficking, arms trafficking and wars, drug trafficking ... the idea of the new uncontrolled and runaway liberalism got out of control and became a social vice, in a huge error, due to economic measures supported by European neocolonialism called IMF and North American colonialism managed by the World Bank.
At first, neoliberalism was about the application of mathematics to the economy, to separate theoretical concepts, such as those of Marxism, from predictable and recordable behavior, which gave way to statistics as a mechanism to predict what can or will happen . Turning everything into numbers gave way to economic policy, which is to turn lies, dogmas and creeds into figures and to lie with numbers rather than words. But the numbers at the same time eliminated the lies that politics uses, which originates in spoken languages. Neoliberalism broke the power of the word for the power of numbers.
In the American Continent, neoliberalism reached a breaking point or saturation, in which nature began to live a new process of extinction, caused by insatiable human behavior, and greed, a sin in Christian religions, by virtue of which is poetically called ambition, but the most fearsome thing is not that only nature turned against ambitious human beings, but that the wealth that nature, people, and even countries produced, was concentrated in few beings human owners of large companies or corporations,
This multiplication of needs. which was the mechanism of multiplying work, production, human inventiveness, ran out of control and now the poor are no longer only those who do not eat, but also those who do not sleep because their ambition is now uncontrollable and makes them permanently poor. who want more and more and in new poor people, who are those who had the illusion of being rich, but went into debt beyond their ability to pay and now have to get rid of their things, social position and dreams of greatness, dedicate their lives to respond to the banks, and lenders who claim him and want him alive, ready for anything and when his body or mind tells them enough, they become suicides, which are now the new plague in developed countries, such as the United States or huge protests as in Chile, the first Latin American country to adopt neoliberalism. As a political doctrine of the government since 1973 and after almost 50 years of remarkable progress, it collapsed, and now gives way to a new constitution.
After resisting, we have to collaborate with those who want to end the neoliberal governments such as Correa, Evo, Lula, Cristina Fernández, finally changing neoliberalism for ideologies that respect nature, which are in danger and can kill us, and of beings humans, who think that too much is never enough like Donald Trump, his allies and his puppets like Moreno, Bolsonaro, Duque, Vizcarra. Piñeras, Añez, Guaidó in our countries.
